LA GRANGE PARK, IL—On Wednesday, June 15th, The Arboretum Villas at Plymouth Place™ officially broke ground to pave way for their innovative new development that will feature 59 Villas catering to active adults 62+ who seek a resort lifestyle. More than 20 people attended the Groundbreaking Celebration who partnered together to make this moment possible.
“It’s been a long journey starting in 2019,” said Jay Biere, CEO of Plymouth Place and The Arboretum Villas. “We have gone through a rigorous process to select subject-matter experts in the senior living field…people who have the skills, the talent and the depth of teams to get us where we want to go. And we’re happy to have many of you with us today.”
“Plymouth Place is the jewel of La Grange Park and we’re very grateful to you for creating a new environment for our senior population,” said Jim Discipio, Village President of La Grange Park, IL. During his formal toast, Discipio also complimented his team at the village hall – including the police department and fire department – for their assistance with the project. “We’re here, we’re one community and one family and we wish you all the best of luck.”
This Groundbreaking Celebration was significant in many ways as it signaled the completion of Phase 1 of the project which included construction within Plymouth Place of the new Salon and Spa and The Market Place, as well as an elegant redesign of The Sarah Tudor Fine Dining Room and The Pub.
Phase 2 of the project will include:
• Building 59 elegant Villas specially designed for the active lifestyle of adults 62+
• Creating a 17-acre arboretum with walking trails, a pond, beautiful gardens and amenities including a greenhouse, bocce ball court, putting green and pickleball
• Building the Center for Healthy Living, a state-of-the-art aquatics and fitness center
• Adding additional restaurants, a coffee and juice bar, lounges and a golf simulator
• And so much more
“We wouldn’t be here without each and every person standing in this room including the residents of Plymouth Place,” said Nita Foundos, Senior Director of Sales “The residents have backed us. They have approved and appreciate all of the changes we’re making. It’s been a work of labor and love.”
Project partners in attendance at the Groundbreaking Celebration included Pepper Construction, AG Architecture, Hitchcock Design Group, Spellman Brady & Company, Dick & Doris Marketing and BML Productions.
